RealChek® collection services specializes in landlord/tenant debt collection. This means our collectors have been trained to "talk the talk" and can respond to your former tenant's allegations of failure to repair (they like to allege that they escrow the rent, but never do, right?). RealChek places the debt they owe you on their credit report and on their tenant rental history. We advise your former tenant that their ability to borrow, and as importantly, to rent, will be adversely affected until you are paid. This is to encourage them by giving them a reason to pay. As long as they owe a debt to any member, they cannot rent from another member. The application is stopped and the debtor is contacted by our collection division. PLUS, we have new information on the debtor such as employment, banking and checking locations, etc. They may not have to buy on credit but they have to live somewhere!
